Basil & Broccoli Sprout Bliss Pesto

Green goodness awaits with this easy-to-prepare pesto! Bold garlic is balanced with savory Pamesan cheese, while sweet basil and our broccoli sprouts bring fresh flavor. Almonds, rather than pine nuts, bring another level of sweetness with their nutty flavor and texture. While we recommend you try this on our Heirloom Pesto Pie, it would also be great on a sandwich, over roasted vegetables, tossed with pasta, and more! Yields 2 cups Ingredients

  • 1 Cups Sunny Creek Farms Broccoli Sprouts
  • 1 Cup Fresh Basil
  • 3 Garlic Cloves
  • 1/2 Cup Almonds
  • 1/4 Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1/2 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Directions

  1. In a food processor, combine sprouts, basil, garlic, almonds, parmesan cheese and salt. Process until finely minced.
  2. Drizzle in the olive oil and process until smooth.

Store pesto in the refrigerator for up to 4 days, or try it on our Heirloom Pesto Pie (recipe here), as a spread on a sandwich, bake into bread dough, tossed with roasted vegetables, or mixed with sour cream to use as a dip! Serve and enjoy.
